06 Sep 2011 | Admin

Chubb has announced a FREE service to its Homeowners customers who may be concerned about the raging Texas Wildfires.  If you own a home in a wildfire-prone area, you are likely aware that wildfire event can be devastating.  With this week's fires in Bastrop & Austin, and some in the outlying areas of Houston, now wildfires are a concern to more of our customers than ever before.

Eligible homeowner policyholders have the option to enroll in Chubb Wildfire Defense Services, which can automatically deploy a leading fire management organization to help protect your home and prevent you from having to pay out-of-pocket expenses in the event of a wildfire.

Any Texas Platinum homeowner policyholders in 73 Texas counties are eligible to enroll.  Harris and Montgomery counties are included in this list.  The service is complimentary to its policyholders, and there is no enrollment fee.

To enroll, simply visit www.chubbwildfiredefense.com to complete your enrollment.  You will need your Chubb homeowners policy number and effective date, which can be found in the top right corner of your policy declarations page.  If you need help finding this information, give us a call.

Please remember, if you are in a fire prone area and have been asked to evacuate, your life is more important than your belongings.  Do not stay behind to collect items.  If you are aware of the risk in advance, gather important documents, clothes for several days, any medicines you are taking, your pets, and your family's medical information (including pet records).  If you are evacuating to a shelter, remember to also bring several days worth of non-perishable food items.  Taking a few precautionary steps as outlined above can help to ensure you and your family remain safe.
