Cravens Warren Interviewed by Insurance Journal
Cravens Warren's Mike Schneider was interviewed recently by Andrea Wells of Insurance Journal Online regarding the employment climate for insurance agencies in Texas. The article, "South Central Insurance Employment: Oil, Economy Fuel Texas Hiring", addressed the higher than average rate at which employment at insurance agencies declined nationwide. Despite continued sluggish economic growth, Wells' research indicates that "... Some independent agencies across Texas say hiring in agencies is on the rise in 2012.
Schneider was interviewed in relation to the hiring trends at his agency as well as others in Texas;
“In the past several months, we’ve hired two in commercial account manager assistant roles,” Schneider says, adding the agency is actively looking for a third, and possibly a fourth hire in similar positions.
He attributed the trend to a number of causes including increased state reporting and regulation requirements as well as an improving business environment in Texas;
“We had a good year last year in terms of new business sales,” he says. “We feel fortunate to be in Houston, and in Texas, because the economy on a relative basis is still strong.”
Cravens Warren has about 30 employees and writes about $35 million in premium, with $4 million in revenues, mostly in commercial business. Click Here to read the full Insurance Journal article.
