CravensCARES Helps Local Animal Shelter

Anyone who knows me knows that I am passionate about animal welfare. I live near the Montgomery County Animal Shelter, and it always tugs at my heartstrings to hear the staggering numbers of homeless animals that come into the shelter each month.
With this cause in mind, I held a month-long animal goods drive at Cravens Warren. Employees helped out by donating items the shelter could use. We collected several cases of dog and cat food, dog and cat toys, as well as food bowls for the animals. Several employees made monetary donations, and my husband Juston and I donated 10 "Coolaroo" style dog beds, which are dog beds that keep dogs cool in the hot summer months.
We will be delivering the goods to the shelter in mid-July, but anyone who would like to make a donation of supplies can contact me at 281-854-0112, and I will gladly pick them up and deliver them to the shelter, or any local animal shelter of your choice.
For more information on the Montgomery County Animal Shelter, please visit their website at http://www.mcaspets.org/index.html.
Also, a list of items needed can be found here: http://www.mcaspets.org/wish-list.html.
Remember if you and your family are looking to add a special pet in your lives, please do not forget about your local shelters. The selection is wide and there are many homeless animals who would love to share your home & your heart.
This is a photo of Ashley & Puggles, Texas Ranger. Ashley & Juston adopted Puggles in 2007 at 4 months old, when he was found "less desirable" by his breeder because of a defect in his tailbone. Puggles had surgery to correct a Luxating Patella in the Summer of 2010, and is now fully recovered.
Here is a photo of Puggles, Texas Ranger, in late 2010, 4 months after surgery. Notice his very small scar on his right leg, the only residual effect of the surgery. (Laying on his favorite blanket- given to us by America First Insurance Company)
