CravensCARES Participates in
I recently volunteered for “Making Promises Happen” - an event for Disabled people, held in Port Aransas June 26-27. MPH is a surf camp for disabled people from Texas and the surrounding states. Many of the participants had never been to the beach, let alone go surfing. The event is coordinated through the Surfrider Foundation who ask experienced watermen to participate in helping with the campers. I was truly honored to participate in the event and was blessed by the experience. The pictures don’t even come close to capturing the smiles on these peoples faces.
Make Promises Happen is a program of Central Christian Camp and Conference Center, which provides outdoor recreational opportunities to individuals with special needs. The program serves youth and adults ages 6 and older with any disability. For information, go to www.centralchristiancamp.org.
