CravensCARES Participates in Susan G Komen Race for the Cure

CravensCARES Chairperson

On Saturday, October 1, our CravensCARES volunteers participated in the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Downtown Houston.

I feel it was a big success with our going beyond our goal of raising $500 to a final tally of  $1,165.00 in donations (not including fees participants paid to enter the race).

We had 15 people who actually walked Saturday including spouses and children. Juston Western, Mike & Amy Preston, and Anne & Meg Schneider joined our cause and a special thank you goes out to all of you!  David Schroeder participated by registering to “Sleep in for the Cure” but then he got up any way and rode his bike from his home to the event to take pictures.

Thank you to Kenny Scott, our underwriter and friend, from State Auto who joined our team and walked with some of us.  The ladies, including me, probably talked his head off but he just kept on smiling.

My friend, Vanessa, thank you for your support.  We all enjoyed your being there and supporting our team.

I hope and pray we are able to make this an annual event.

Thank you one and all and God Bless each one of you.
