On June 22, 2011 CravensCARES visited KIPP Peace Elementary School in Houston, to help beautify its campus.  Margie Collins & Betty Copaus helped other IIAT Members and the Young Agents of Texas volunteer at the school, by doing landscaping, painting, and other beautification efforts.

Margie and Betty painted several accent walls in the classrooms.  They enjoyed the opportunity to join with other members of the Independent Agents of Texas to make a difference in our local community.

KIPP, the Knowledge Is Power Program, is a national network of free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public schools with a track record of preparing students in underserved communities for success in college and in life. There are currently 99 KIPP schools in 20 states and the District of Columbia serving more than 27,000 students.

KIPP is on a mission to develop in underserved students the academic skills, intellectual habits, and qualities of character necessary to succeed at all levels of pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, college, and the competitive world beyond.  To learn more about KIPP, please visit their website:  http://www.kipp.org/about-kipp.
